    What is the serial number? I wonder if that will tell you what number it was of the 500.

    Many .22's, especially older ones like this, did NOT have serial numbers.
    They weren't required until sometime in the 1930's I think.

    I have one or two older .22's without serial numbers.

    The 1968 GCA is when S/N's became mandatory. Although most big companies already put them on.
