Yesterday I was wondering if I'm restricted to staying inside my truck while dropping off or picking up children from school. I must travel to 3 different schools to get the kids and one of the schools requires the parents to walk up and retrieve their children as they are lined up outside. At my second stop there was a local leo waiting. I have been disarming at home before going to pick them up, so I walked over to the Leo's car to discuss it with him....

Anyone have an opinion on this before I reveal what the leo told me?

It matters very little what the leo told you. What matters is the actual law.

The LEO is incorrect. See above post.

I haven't reveled what the leo told me so how can you know he was incorrect?

And unless I'm missing something, the law states you can carry to pick up and drop off, but doesn't specify if you must remain in your vehicle...

Yes it does. It says "while operating".

You're lack of correct punctuation lead me to read the post below as a statement rather than a question. My fault I guess. BRB with the code so you can see that you're incorrect about getting out of the vehicle.

Ok... leo told me I would not be breaking the law as long as I didn't go inside the school. He then added that it was a stupid law because someone who wants to shoot up a school will go in regardless.

But can you point out in IC as to were it says you can? A LEO's thoughts has very little weight in a court room. (but +1 to the LEO).
