This is precisely what the meme-maker and I are saying. I'm not saying all teachers and the meme didn't either. Want a bunch of examples? I'll be happy to document it if you are ignorant of the situation.

I guess I'm saying I have a problem with any blanket condemnation of teachers in general, based on the years I put in not only going to public schools, but also as a public school teacher. I have never agreed with the whole "guilt by association" smear tactic idea or the hate it spreads. I've known too many really good, some great, people in the teaching profession to join the pitchfork and torch crowd. Again, I will say this about public education. Work to get the feds and the state government out of education. Get personally involved with your kids' school and know their teachers. Read the curriculum and ask good questions at school board meetings. But, on the other hand, take the easy road and keep saying, "All teachers are this kind of terrible or all teachers are that kind of terrible", and people will stop listening to anything you might have to say.

I didn't see anybody blaming ALL teachers. Nobody ever does that crap. Just the leftist, anti-gun, socialist pukes that poison our kids and country.

I let it go the first time because I thought you simply misread it. But you have now had a chance to go back and review it and failed reading comprehension for a second time. Let me try to help:

"If you like socialism," - This means it addresses only those who are turning out to be socialists in the most successful capitalist country in the history of mankind. The comma is implied, but not in the meme.
"thank a teacher" - This means that the addressee had at least one teacher who taught a twisted version of US/economic history and presented a false narrative about what socialism is.

The second amendment is much harder to parse than this.

You said that this meme is a blanket condemnation of teachers in general. That is a false statement.
You said that this meme is about guilt by association. That is a false statement that has nothing to do with the meme at all and was pulled out of thin air.
You said that I'm taking the "easy road" and condemning "all teachers". Neither I nor the meme said any such thing and having to repeatedly explain these simple concepts certainly isn't the easy road that it should have been.

You have every right to stop listening to me. I'll even make it easy by pointing you to the ignore function. The only thing that I ask is that you cease misrepresenting the information that I've presented.

If an anti-gunner created a meme that said: "If there is blood in the street, thank a person with a gun.", it would be harsh but entirely correct and parses exactly the same as the meme I placed above. I wouldn't like the meme, but would only be upset at the criminal, which is where the blame belongs.

If that meme instead followed your language and said: "If there is blood in the streets, thank people with guns.", then it would be a blanket condemnation of people who have nothing to do with the problem, but have something in common with the criminals and would be entirely deserving of push-back.

Both the meme and I place the blame only on those teachers who misrepresent American history and capitalism to the negative and extol or do not properly explain socialism, just as I only place the blame on gun owners who use guns criminally. That is why I posted the meme and will continue to defend it.

Ditto, wife is a HS teacher for nearly 40 years. Definitely NOT a liberal and teaches that way. I have worked in the same building with her for 3 years now. The vast majority of the teachers are conservative as is the administration. Some are very good shotgun/handgun competitors.
