If you're going to use hand signals, Do it right!
All too often I see "the lazy left turn signaling", usually from Harvey Danielson riders.
Are you changing lanes, pointing out a hazard or just waving?
If you're trying to indicate a left turn, extend the arm straight out, parallel to the road, not downward at 45°.
I'm not sure if you do it because you think it makes you look cool, or what, but it's just confusing and sloppy and makes me think you don't care about safety (confirmed by the rag on your head).The whole point of doing it is to let others know what your intention is, not to confuse them.
