Look, how dare you call our longstanding INGO traditions weird.

And now . . . a photo of Milla Jovovich:

Doing my best to learn laws, since finding INGO, I have learned quite a bit.

Honest question, I am new to the ways of arms, but I was curious, are there any laws in IN against me mounting a shotgun in the trunk of my car?
No laws other than the standard no carry zones like schools. You're not required by law to tell a LEO about it in Indiana but if you cross into Ohio your are required by their law to tell a LEO during a traffic stop.

If you're going to keep a shotgun in your trunk, I'd recommend a light coat of RIG Universal Gun Grease to help prevent rust.

    And we do know that:

    1. A pistol grip shotgun is an handgun.

I do believe it was a pistol grip shotgun w/out a stock like the Mossburg 500 JIC.

Is there a max amount of firearms(long gun or handgun) that a person can have in their vehicle at any one time?

Did you move here from Illinois too?

I remember my first days here after having lived in that socialist state.

Holy S, I can have this?

Holy S, I can carry that?

Holy S, I can do this?

Holy S, I don't have to register that?

A full Bill of Rights feels nice don't it? :patriot:

Though if I ever get hurt or robbed or otherwise serously injured when I am in that comunist state I fully intend to sue them because I was forced to be unable to defend myself based on there infringement of my right to so. How that for a crap shot lawsuit.:D

This is a handgun in Indiana:

    pistolgrip_shotgun.jpg

When is a shotgun an handgun, when the Court of Appeals in Indianapolis says it is:

No.?49A02-9901-CR-41. - ESTEP v. STATE - IN Court of Appeals
after reading that case, i have realized that by shortening the part of the stock that rests on your shoulder, your left arm suddenly falls off!!

and further google searching showed that the atf tried or is trying to not call them shotguns but destructive devices. b/c under the same logic. by removing several inches of wood that rests on your shoulder, you have created an entirely new/different and way more destructive firearm.

just don't go into ohio with it loaded. a loaded long gun is a big no no in ohio. having the long gun and ammo in the same area of car unless long gun is locked in a case is a big no no..

generally long gun transport in car in ohio is : either one or both long gun and ammo have to be out of reach, and a loaded magazine is a loaded gun.

I remember when I first moved here in 95, I live in rural county.

The local high school kids would have shotguns and bows on racks in the back window of their trucks during deer season so they could hunt before and after school.

All the trucks going into the parking lot and sitting all day while they went to school and no body had a fit, no swat teams were called, no arrests were made, etc.

I love Indiana, of course that has all changed now, however it was a shocker for a refugee of a communist state like me.

Now when I go to Illinois to see family as I cross that state line the ol spinchter tightens and doesn't relax unitl I cross back into Indiana.

So if you have a shotgun without a pistol grip you dont need a LTCH to carry it in your trunk or anywhere in your car even loaded?
