It is my destiny to own one of there. I keep telling the wife that my latest gun purchase will be the last so don't know how to pull this off. Money isn't an issue but alas, she doesn't share my enthusiasm for fine guns.

When any of my grandsons get engaged, I tell them to be sure the new wives know what to expect regarding guns. Not a problem so far.

I thought I would get one but was going to wait until the hubbub was over and prices went down on them. Hopefully by then they will have the bugs worked out.

I just recently started reloading 38/357. I would really like to get one of these. I have been watching the progress of these being released with a few problems over at colt forum.

if your buddy had a problem with his colt offers a one year warranty. I’m sure he knows this and should send it back to colt

There are Colt and Browning owners and their are Marlin and Ruger owners, Two of them have served the US Armed Services for over 100 years and two have not...
Two of them continue to be worth more money each year...

Yep, there are Browning and Sig Sauer owners, and their are Ruger and Marlin owners out there. Some have served this country for over 100 years, others haven't served at all.
    So which is it?
    I own 3 out of the 5

I can’t understand why a TV show made the snake guns prices triple.

    I can’t understand why a movie
made the model 29 (or automag) prices triple!

I can’t understand why miami vice made the bren 10 prices triple!

I can’t understand why a TV show made mcdonalds spicy Sichuan sauce prices triple!

it's because people are sheep! its because people will always say "so and so used it in (insert movie or tv show here), so it has to be good!"

and actually colt snake guns were in demand before twd, because I've seen the prices of anacondas (not used on the walking dead) go from 495 (what I paid for mine in 93) to 2800 (the last used one we sold in 2017)

you got the sheep part right. Perception is a reality to many that justify their favorite equipment. Predictable and easy.

    Don't want a Python? Don't buy one.
    Pretty simple.

I bet 75% of the crap is from simple jealousy.

Maybe not the toughest. Most people talk way more than they shoot.

They get the bugs worked out, I'll get a stainless 6 inch and blast deer with it.
    Why?

    Why the hell not?

Like a 686 just fine. Hate Ruger DA .357, GP or SS, doesn't matter.
    They aint perfect either.

Am no fan of Smith M10/13. Yet people oooh and ahhhh over them.

I ran Hogues on my Python.
    It shot great.

Ran Hogues on my 629s too (four of them).
Those rubber fingergroove, or the big fat target factoyr grips, quite different, but both work well for me.

Pachmayrs, large or small, on a Python, me no like.

Take me out of that 75% OK.
I have "SOLID" reasons not to want another Colt unless it was held by a GI storming a beach or clearing a jungle island in the Pacific. And there are 2 of those in my position now. Love them both.

Agreed. If you want to pay that much for that gun then please, let me open the door for you. It just won't be me ponying up that big chunk of change on one.

    Yep..
Some hold value and go up in price every year... Others not so much..
When I bought my Python in the early eightys it was about 45% -50% more than a smith 19 or a 686...
Seems to have been a better buy than a 19 or a 686...
