I had a Python 6" that I bought about forty-five years ago. It was a work of art from the days before Colt went to the dogs. I carried it for a couple of months on the job but hated the idea of getting holster wear on it so I replaced it with a 6" Model 19 Smith.
A few years ago I parted with it at the 1500. It was a safe queen and I wanted a Smith Model 29 as a bear gun since the better half and I were headed to points west.
I wouldn't touch a new Colt with a ten foot pole.
