Red Light over the front door.

It is common practice in many Countries across the World to use a Red Light next to the Door to subtlety say this is a House of Ill Repute, Brothel or Whore House.

Common in both Europe and Asia (parts that cater to American Service Men). I'm over 50 also and so this information may no longer be valid.

I was in Amsterdam in August. They are still using the Red Light in the Red Light District.

Every teen in the 60s knew that's what the red light meant but nobody seemed to know where to find one. Good thing. Teen brains+general stupidity+raging harmones would have been a bad combination.

My grandma kept going on about her neighbor having a red light on the porch and lots and lots of visitors and people hanging around out front at all hours. Turns out it was just drugs. Whew... no whores.
