I'm going to Myrtle Beach for a family vacation in the middle of July and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent firearms instructor/training facility. I figure if I'm going to be out there it's a great opportunity to take a class from an instructor that isn't so close to home.

I'm looking for something short, like a one day or half day class, that is focused on basic or intermediate techniques. Not quite NRA basic pistol, but I know I'm not an expert. I'm also not rich, so if it's more than a couple hundred bucks it's out of my price range.

    EDIT
Now I'm looking up the legality of carrying in South Carolina :noway: (won't honor IN LTCH). Is it legal to transport a firearm (locked and unloaded), keep it in my hotel room (locked and unloaded), and take it to a facility to train with? Or should I avoid the hassle and just leave my gun at home? Where's a national reciprocity law when you need one...

Check out the Palmetto State Amory facilities in the area. We vacation in Hilton Head, and I go shoot at the Beaufort range. While it isn't a training class per se, it is at least a great place to go shoot!
