Just checked e regs on phone. Nothing said about reds/ pineys. There is a season on fox/ greys and flying squirrels are protected.

Looks the way the regs have been for decades.
    Pineys considered varmints.

Maybe there was a recent change ( doubt it ).
    Can you post it?

There is online at dnr site some squirrel hunting/biology info..
Where they do list the types of tree squirrels. But there is nothing i saw saying pineys are protected.

Maybe the mention next to the flying squirrels ( which are protected) threw some folks off.

    Small Game | Indiana Hunting Seasons & Regulations ? 2019 | eRegulations

    does not mention reds online

2019-2020 hard copy shows what e reg does.

Now the question is...........was the mention of reds in your 2018-2019 legit or an error (and the lack of it now, legit or in error).

Be neat to pull up a 2017-2018 copy and see what was mentioned (any continuity).

Just fired off an email to the idnr to see if things changed or there is an error.

Eh, proly have to mark piney den trees with purple paint, use PCR and not hunt on Sundays LOL

    IDNR emailed me back.

Thank you for contacting the Indiana Division of Fish & Wildlife.

Yes, you are correct. The 2018-2019 Hunting Guide was incorrect with its information. It is illegal to hunt flying squirrels.

    I’d agree with the OP.

I love my Marlin 60, which shoots great out of the box.

However I do love my adult legos. I’ve got my eye on a TC 22, which is basically the 10/22 with the Magpul stock.

I did have issues with the iron sights on the Marlin 60, as it felt the stock was designed for a child. I threw some rings and an optic and worked great after.
