I walked into Greenwood RK last week and asked if they had .44 special. The guys behind the counter told me it was considered a dead round and they told me the only place you can buy it is online or reload. Thats when I quietly walked out shaking my head.

I made a lap through our RK yesterday, only one AR and it was .22LR. They did have Armscor 9mm for $9.99 a box. Not a bad price, IMHO.

I have only been to the RK in New Castle, but have had good experiences with the counter people.
I gotta think the whole escorting people to the door with a firearm purchase is driven by insurance, and security policy. Which doesn't bother me..while being escorted they don't know about the pistol I am concealing. Lol.

Agreed, but it's not just escorting. At the southside store they would not let me hold the pistol I hard ordered from their website before they escorted me out of the store. It appears they will not let you hold anything without a trigger lock on it out of their case, and since the gun I had ordered did not have one on it (as it was not in the case) they did not let me hold it before I got out of the store. I at least had the guy behind the counter function check it for me, but I think that is completely over the top. I won't buy or order from them again due to that. I can get whatever I'm looking at either cheaper at Grab a Gun and have it sent to USDS for a no BS transfer or just shop it locally elsehwhere.

Also, every one of their computer terminals for completing the 4473 was having issues and it took forever, after rebooting them.

I don't buy guns from places that feel that they have to escort me to the door like some kind of criminal. The idiots behind the gun counter at RK don't help matters, either.

Iv bought two guns from Bloomington RK, won’t do it again. They are so slow. When you do finish ur 4473 they have to call the manager to come back and read it over and check firearm. The dumbass behind the counter screwed up the guy before me and he had to do it all over again in the computer. Then they have to have someone escort you to the door right after they have another person check the box and forms.

Its awful. The last expierence took over and hour. USDS takes 10 mins at the max,

I have never been in a RK.
It seems to me, if you guys want "cheap" guns, then dealing with less than informed staff and an escort to the door is what you'll have to put up with.
If the price of something were an issue, I guess I would put up with it.
I do like the look of the FDE shield.

Agreed, and I won't do it again. There are places that are just as cheap generally, and easier to deal with. I had heard decent things about them and gave it a try, but I won't do it again.

    1. In my case, looking for the Smith and Wesson Compact 22 for weeks, noone had it for the $299 that Rural King did and it was in the store.
    2. Even "my" Hoosier Armory was $330 - $340 new, and they can't be beat for most items that I've priced.

I've purchased numerous guns, most of which are done via RKguns. Of late, it seems like they're taking significantly longer to actually ship (over a month, pushing 6 weeks on my most recent order). It's getting a bit frustrating to be honest.

Never used targetsportsusa, just checked them out....definitely will be using them now. Thanks for the info!!!

When going through checkout, remember to check the box for free "Discrete Overbox Packaging". This way the outer box takes the beating from the shippers instead of the 'case box'.

there is nothing quick about their process. That's the only pisser offer for me. That and you can't handle a piece with the trigger lock out of it. Tried to see if a holster would fit my 641 and the counter guy had to hold it and ask if it looked right. No thanks I'll get one else where.
