Very nice. I have not seen any 10mm S&W pistols down in my neck of the woods. Good find!

They were part of a much larger estate auction, sent to me by a childhood friend in Kansas. After looking at what most of the lots sold for, probably 85% of the lots could have sold for more on gunbroker, just because they extra exposure they would have got there. I feel fortunate to have got those 2 10mm's. I'd really like to find a 1046, but not at what I'd likely have to give to get one.

S&W semi-auto model numbers are so confusing. Not sure which of these are actually considered 3rd gen.

Won a S&W 909 over the weekend off GB. Paid 325 and comes with 2 mags. I would say the finish is about 90% from the pics. I even asked S&W if they knew how many were made and they said 8023 909's were made.

While 640-1 could refer to 639; my guess is that you are most likely referring to the ubiquitous and near perfect J-frame revolver. Which I agree, is a fun shooting platform.

Third Gen Smith's are semi-autos in various calibers built from 1988 to 2010(ish) though all 1st and 2nd gen models back to 1954 are similar and loosely included herein. Production ceased when accountants and plastic took center stage....but that's another conversation.

In order to join "officially", it matters not if you own a 3rd gen; you only need to send $100 to 1775usmarine (put 457 fund in memo) and DO NOT make it out in his wife's name.

I am leaving the price on the 457 at $375 for Ingo members, but for the people in this discussion, I will take $350. Time to let her go.

That is a very fair price. I wish I have $350 to spare right now, because I'd snap it up. All of my 3rd gen guns are 9mm!

Cabela's has new in box 5946's on their website again. $549.88. I'd love to pick on up, but I'm not sure I could justify a drive to Cabelas from where I'm at.

Forgive me, my third generation brethren, for I have sinned.

In a moment of weakness, I purchased a p..p...p..pl...plas...plastic pistol. Err. polymer.

Grabbed a steal of a deal on M&P 2.0 FDE 5"....Sin can be fun!

I'm thinking of picking up an M&P magazine type KelTec Sub-2000, because with a simple magazine catch swap (which is available from keltec's website) you can run 59xx mags in the thing.

No. I am pretty loyal to my LGS but this was one of those "bid for the heck of it times on Gunbroker". I have $410 in the pistol out the door which is below wholesale cost. Just couldn't pass it up.

But I still have a few third gens on my list. That elusive 3906 tops the list.

Nice, that is a good score, better than blue label price. The 3904/3906 is my favorite 3rd gen as well.

I've still got my 3906 and hopefully early Monday will get my 909 from my LGS.
