Looks like I'll be shooting one of these this evening! I'll report back afterwards. There will probably be lots of pictures and videos involved.

Got to fondle one today. I was impressed. Trigger seemed good. Not super light (wouldn't expect it to be) but it breaks cleanly and the reset is predictable and firm. It was definitely a smidge bigger than my LC9 but felt reasonable in the pocket. I think I'll probably pop on the next one I see at a good price point.

Picked mine up at Acme Sports in Seymour, got the first one they had come in.

    $400 + $28 tax = sweetness.

Put around 150 rounds down tonight with my son, loving it so far.

Gonna give up your Glocks for M&P now?

Gonna keep running this as my carry gun.

I generally compete with the same platform I carry, so we'll see. I may have to borrow someone's M&P and shoot it in a match before deciding to sell off my new Gen4 G34.

I hadn't messed with the M&P's until now because I wasn't going to trade out trigger parts in a carry gun.

I really will have to spend some time to learn the internals of the gun before moving to using it in competition.

Meh...not impressed. I've/most of us serious CCW'ers have gone the single stack compact route before...Why do we leave it behind. FIREPOWER! I'm willing to sacrifice minute amounts of mass and size for those few extra valuable rounds. With a gun of 7/8+1 i still yearn for just a few more rounds...Why, i don't know. I just always come feel better armed with something like the 26/27.

Besides, are any of you seriously willing to be BETA testers? Just cause JY says it's the berries, doesn't mean it's for me...He's skinny and wears tight shirts. I'm fat/tall and wear lose appropriate CCW attire. If the Shield makes y'all happy great. But i can conceal my 26 just fine.

Good luck to all who test this though. I seriously think it will sell like bacon wrapped pancakes...If i ever feel like i must go smaller...I might consider, but then again i'd likely just end up keeping the dang thing in the glovebox, or in the safe and pack the slightly bigger compact or sub compact Glock.

I got to handle one of these at work yesterday. Gander only got one of these in and it sold within the hour. I really like the feel of the gun. Even with the smaller magazine, I still felt like i had a solid grip (I have average sized hands). I'm the type of person who is always wearing shorts and a tshirt and concealing this wouldn't be a problem at all.
I really liked the trigger on this one compared to the other M&P's I've handled. I know the full size triggers smooth out over time, but this one came smooth right out of the box. I told the guy who orders our guns to call me as soon as a 40 comes in, becuase they are definitely worth the money.

    Very well done guys!

The Shield is just about the right size for a sub-compact and shoots pretty darn good, will serve me good on those hot days in the summer when I'm out bassfishin.

Hickman...Last time i met you at the range you cost me $535 on a 17....please don't cost me any more money. At least lie to me ;) Just kidding buddy. I would really like to try one, i have had very similar sized guns in the past and i always fell back on slightly larger cap guns.

But i trust your opinion on the matter...I'll at least take a look at one. Besides at the price point, if i don't like it personally. I'll keep it in my vehicle or give it to my wife.
