    Price wise, which is more affordable, .338 win or .308 win? Also can you use the 7.62x51 in a .308? One more thing, it seems easier to find .338 lapua than .338 win. Would it be a pain to find ammo (its a pain to find ANY ammo now, so just think back before the madness)...thanks

    First: 338 Lapua is not the same as 338 Win.
    Second: 308 is much, much cheaper than 338 LM and much cheaper than 338 WM
    Third: nato spec 7.62x51 is lower pressure than commercial 308. There may be differences in the case dimensions which i do not know about, but I have heard 7.62 cartridges can be fired in comm 308 rifles. Someone else may be along to go into more detail.
