What about moving from state to state and bringing your guns with you. Do you need to do anything special?(when I say moving I mean change of residence not weekend road trip or vacation.)

Federally, no. To Indiana, no. Other states may have registration requirements, including ammo restrictions (i.e. no hollow-points), magazine size prohibitions, or even specific firearms, the mere possession of which is a criminal act.
One point: If you have a short-barreled shotgun that you obtained legally, have a tax stamp, etc., that firearm must remain out of Indiana. It is unlawful under our current state laws.
