One was a poison pill, it would take away much federal funding for law enforcement to anyone that release gun owner info publicly.

The other was a touchy feelly that added funding to the mental health system. No gun language in it whatsoever. I am thinking that Reid NV may amend his bill himself and remove everything but this amendment as a latch ditch to salvage something.

All in all MORE WIN TODAY.

Thanks for the summary. Sounds like a good win. Rep inbound.

    Not over

The left have a bigger agenda in mind. The gun control will come through taxing ammo and Oblaama Care . Wait and see.

The End of the current congress session, but it would still have the Poison Pill amendment thrown on it today. That can not ever be taken off.

    Longshot at best... REAL longshot.

More likely would be some revival of the Shumer bill or throwing an unrelated amendment on another bill. But doing so would be a poison pill effect on whatever it was thrown on.

Read this. Reid to shelve gun bill – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

Harry doesn't make any effort to hide his intentions here. He says the republicans will buckle, their stand is not sustainable, the climate for passage of this bill will come in time. (Next Shooting Spree) The bill will be shelved so they can vote on it quickly next time without having to start over at ground zero. He is confident the bill will pass once he re-introduces it at a strategic time.

I tend to think he will get things (many things) passed once the news cycle drifts around and lands on another mass (2 or more) shooting. I heard 4 were killed, 22 wounded, in Chicago over the weekend during their typical gang wars. Would've been traction for this bill if it'd happened a week ago.
