We need to design a seal for Zippos that allows them to function normally, but prevents rapid evaporation of the fuel when unused. I know about the piece of inner tube trick, but a little gasket might be just the trick.

    Thread revival, :)

I've been working on my pocket survival kits when I have time, I've incorporated several of the ideas given in this thread, along with some found on YouTube videos. This one isn't compete, it needs a compass and a few more things.

So far I have fire straws, carbide tool sharpener that works great for striking the fero rod, fish hooks, fishing line, waxed thread, heavy duty needle, swiss+tech multi tool, sandpaper, gorilla tape, banding material arrowheads, can opener, and ESEE survival card.

These fire straws are made with pixie stick straws, they hold a whole cotton ball with petroleum jelly, and will burn for two minutes. The banding material arrowheads were easy to make and take up very little room.

Anyone else put more of these together?
