I've owned the ruger mk3 and the Sig. I stll own the ruger. I never could get the Sig to feed right every time. I think I've had 3-5 ftf out of 10,000ish with the ruger. I threaded it forva suppressor myself, but I think they have threaded options

Ruger 22/45 or P22 are my two favorite. I've never tried the GSG, but they look like a lot of fun and have heard nothing but good things about them. I probably prefer shooting my P22 over the 22/45 though.

If you don't mind spending the money go with a Ruger MkIII with a threaded pac-lite upper and never look back.....very very accurate and sweet! I would recommend the easy our bolt conversion also.

Harder to find, but I really like my threaded Buckmark. I use it with a 9mm can that's fatter than most rimfire ones, but the sights are high enough to see over it. Ruger is also now making a lightweight 22/45 that comes threaded, it'd probably be comparable to the Pac-Lite configuration but cheaper and ready to go out of the box.

I haven't tried it with the can yet, but I've also got a threaded Marvel conversion for my 1911 that I bet is gonna be sweet.

    I'll second what SSNFA said.

I own a GSG 1911, and i've own-ED a sig mosquito. The GSG is an excellent gun. I'm not fond of breaking down 1911's though, so it's kind of a pain to clean. Other than cleaning, it's awesome.

Here are some notes on the sig:
From the factory the sig has the worst trigger i've ever felt. Imagine squeezing a moist sponge and at some point the gun goes off. The second issue is the feed ramp. From the factory there is a lip prior to the round going into the barrel. This lip often catches the tip of the bullet, jamming the gun. Luckily (kind of) my barrel wasn't threaded so i had to buy the Gemtech threaded one. The gemtech is nice as it doesn't have the lip. The gun was now at 90% reliable verses 60%. The only pros i can think of is the gun was accurate, it fit well in the hand, and it looked nice.

Have a sig mosquito with a threaded barrel. Love it! its got that full size feel. Definitely a good trainer for full size sigs. Not crazy about the trigger pull though.

Don't forget the S&W M&P 22 I have a GSG 1911,Ruger 22/45 with factory threaded barrel and the M&P 22. All for use with my Huntertown Guardian 22 suppresser. Out of the three I like the M&P the best. Next would be the GSG, heard alot of good talk about the buckmark but never shot one.

Ruger MK2 or MK3 are good, I like the Browning Buckmark a little better. Can't go wrong with either.

Love my Ruger 22/45 it will eat any ammo I feed it , the only jam it has ever had was mag related. But after shooting my friends Browning Buckmark Whisper I have to get one now. Plus I have been wanting a second thread barrel .22

I have a Ruger MKII I had cut and threaded. Also have a GSG 1911. Both are great guns and super suppressor hosts. A buddy had a P22 and it works well but just feels toy-ish. I like SIG products but have heard too many bad things about the mosquito, especially as a host.

I'm not seeing a lot of threaded barrels on .22 pistols at LGS. Should I just get one threaded when I buy a suppressor or is having a factory threaded barrel the way to go?

Well in some cases that will work, but for most pistols there isn't enough barrel sticking out of the slide on a factory barrel for you to really get it threaded. If it doesn't come pre-threaded you'll likely have to buy a new threaded barrel for it. That's not all bad, but there it is. I've got a nice SIG .22LR top end conversion for my P228s that could not be threaded; I had to track down a new threaded barrel for that one.

Thanks everyone for your input. I am now armed with knowledge, now I must find what is in stock, As everyone has discovered how depleted inventory has become.
