However, the NRA convention is pretty good for us mere mortals. And it's in Nashville this year. I really liked it last year and am thinking of going again in Nashville since my brother lives there and I have a free room.

Yeah I went this last year in Indy. If it were here I would definitely be going again. Since it isn't, I'm not quite sure what I'll do.

Problem is that Savage has a history of changing their stock/trigger guard/magazine configuration rather frequently, which makes it hard for aftermarket accessory manufacturers to keep up. If you're going to pick *A* bolt-action platform for which to debut your new stock, the short-action 700 (which has been basically the same for, like, ever) is a no-brainer.

And no offense to the Raven folks, but I hope their new holster works better than it looks.

Yeah, I saw that... They parked it right next to the INGO jet. My guess is for more publicity.
