make no mistake, obama wants a second term. i don't like his policies at all but contrary to popular belief here on ingo he's no idiot. he will do whatever he has to to get that second term and that is when the real damage will be done. he is a true believer. i can only hope in 2012 that we can put a conservative in the oval office as dedicated to consevative values as obama is dedicated to his socialist values.

The Obamessiah does seem to hang with a different crowd than most pols. Most of them would be scared to death to be seen with some of the people he hangs with (the weather underground/black panther types.). Someone picked him out years ago and paid his way through college and law school. Was it George Soros? I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me.

I think Obama is too arrogant to back down from the Repub House, but he is no where near as politically smart or savvy as Clinton to gain the upper hand. He is going to be facing a barrage from Paul/Issa/Ryan AND the frenzy of the press in following the upcoming circus of Repub candidates that will be campaigning. Combine that with being forced to deal with the no-longer-able-to-sweep-under-the-rug consequences of the Dem policies of the last 4 years, and I predict that we are living in a time that will be discussed for decades :popcorn::popcorn:

After reading all the responses, thinking about some, laughing with others, I believe I'm with DROSS on this. It may very well be better for our country if the 'anointed one' continues full steam ahead in his attempt to dismantle our nation.

I seriously don't think there is any merit in the arguement that there are bi-partisan issues that need to be addressed. Heck, they haven't been addressed consistantly in decades, what makes us think that this time will be any different?

The time of Austerity is upon us and it does nothing but worsen the eventual effects by trying to sustain the unsustainable.

Amen brother!!! It's time for a massive rollback for the government! We need a Wal-Mart style approach to governance. If you can get the job done cheaper, then get it done cheaper, every time! At the point we find ourselves in right now our main task should be saving as much taxpayer money as we can to pay our gigantic debt burden. I'm sure there are plenty of unemployed people who would be willing to work a govt job at half the current salary! It is no different than the corporate world. Keep cutting until the numbers add up. Take a look, re-evaluate and adjust till you can make it with less.

I think Obama's principles are his puppet master's principles, but I agree with dross in this respect. The long term health of the United States is better kept by having divided government for the next two years.

I hate the word bipartisanship. It's definition should be "acting in a manner inconsistent with the will of your electorate". I want these guys scratching and clawing to get the minimal amount of legislation done to run the country, then have Congress ride the administration like a pimp to make sure it acts as instructed.

I can't help but laugh at the ignorance I read on most of these forums. The sad thing is that most of the guys that post this nonsense have very limited educational backgrounds to say the least and are only misquoting what they have heard on either FOX news or their local drinking hole/barber shop. To blame one person for the condition of our country which might I add did not just happen over the last year is utterly ridiculous. America did need a scapegoat though and that is exactly what we got. As far as principles go Obama just like every other politician is a puppet controlled by corporate America, but guess what so are you! Just stay tuned to that idiot box that tells you what to think and you'll be just fine. I, being the conspiracy theorist that I am, see things a bit differently. Common sense would tell you that no one man has that much power. :twocents:

    I resemble that remark.

Seriously, though. You are making very broad assumptions that I don't believe you should be making. Should every person that posts in a thread submit his/her education credentials for your approval prior to posting?

Fox News exists because it tells people what they want to hear. It, like every other news outlet, panders to it's audience. And I would go so far as to say that so do the Conspiracy Theory Hosts, IE; Gov Jesse Ventura, Alex Jones, etc.

Now, I am not painting any of these 'sources of information' as being right or wrong. I think that in all things, the truth is found within. It is up to each individual to seek it out.

So now that he no longer has a Democrat House, and no longer has a filibuster-proof Senate, and now that he can't get exactly what he wants, should he compromise and work with the Republicans to get SOME of what he wants, or should he hold tight to his principles and take nothing if he can't get exactly what he believes?

I ask myself, "Dan, what would be better for you?"

I hope he stands on principle and refuses to compromise.

    What "Principles"?

He has principles. Socialist principles. I'd say he's been more principled than most Presidents of the last 40 years. The fact that you might be completely opposed to his principles doesn't mean he doesn't have them.

Let's say he is at least a liberal, maybe a progressive.

I have asked many liberals to state their principles. I have done research on the web and find liberals asking themselves the same question, to no avail, no answer.

I would like to know what liberal principles are?

I don't use the term "liberal" much, since it's lost its real meaning. Now it just means socialist.

    Leftist or socialist principles:

    Capitialism is an evil system
The American dream is a lie
The system is rigged for the haves and against the have nots
The United States is a source of evil in the World
The Constitution and therefore the United States was created to benefit the wealthy and to exploit the poor and the working class
Government, especially the elite enlightened, are there to create a system that saves men from themselves
    Private property is theft

These are just a few of the principles. I can go on if you'd like

I guess that I always thought of "principles" as something positive rather than negative - such as "unprincipled socialists".
    Or:
Principled = good, honest, considerate, generous, helpful, etc.
Unprincipled = corrupt, greedy, elitest, dishonest, etc.

I have boots, lasso, and a ten gallon hat, but that doesn't make me a cowboy. :lmfao:

You are right, however, there is a lot of programming in our society. It's been going on for a long time. But, I would like to think that folks who come to this forum and read these threads are doing so to investigate and learn. The day I stop learning, is the day I die.
