My dad drove a truck for 35+ yrs...maybe 40. I don't recall. He was OTR more than he wanted and barely knew my brothers and I until we were in our teens. He started driving before there were interstates.

He told us if we drove trucks he would kick our arses. So I became an engineer designing diesel engines....

Yea it's a good way to learn how to park your boxes.....i used to have a mac day cab, but the company decided to retire it and put out $72,000 for this thing.

Pretty nice, i miss the radio though.

I love the old Fords. I did get to drive one a few years ago. Delivered it to Pampered Coach in Hew Haven.

I worked for them back around 2002-2003.

They called me #1 Mother F'er.

Barry pressured me into going to Canada one time, I told him I would, but he would have to "Hold my Lunch" for me. It was my carry piece in a paper bag.

Did you drive a straight truck, or one of the **** trucks?

I ran my own cube truck for them. Had to be at least 10+ years ago. They were still on 36 in Avon.

Yea I was their Canada boy too.

I left and did a Freightliner semi streach box truck and went down to Certified/ Venture on the south side of Indy for several years before they split and closed their doors. Best money I ever made trucking. Too bad they closed. :(

    ooooh truck porn!

I wish I had a pic of my grandpas Freightliner, it was a really dark purple so dark it was on the verge of being black. it was soooooo nice but sadly we had to pull him outa his rig for health reasons. It was a shame to have to sell her.

I do have a story of him tho when he was OTR. He hit a bad patch of black ice and skidded off the road into the median, and hit a big slanted drain. The trailer actually flipped onto the cab crushing it. the cab filled with coffee beans. When first responders arrived he can hear them talking and they assumed he was dead.

luckily his seatbelt broke and he fell into the floorboard of the passenger seat somehow upon impact. Saved his life

Also i have a story of a driver who left the airport in Indy, drove around 465 returned to the airport and thought he was in St. Louis. Turns out this guy was stoned and drunk
