I'll bite - what does the American public need from their politicians? Is there a government / politicians that you wouldn't want to give a single finger salute to?
And how does one get what one needs when we just elect a middle finger instead of electing what we actually need?
(does that make sense?)
I think a lot of people wished the GOP would have said, "Donald, Thank You. You've cleaned the muck left from Obama, you've poked the dems eyes out with a stick - job well done. You're great, but now we've chosen a new direction. It's time for us to get serious about governing. I'm sure you'll do great at your next job."
Would have been a perfect time since the best the dems can do it Corn Pop Joe.
I guess politics isn't that simple.

To steal a turn of phrase, I'll bite.
How would you propose this would be done? Who would you put up? Would you accept whatever compromising (R) that the DEEP STATERS gave you?
I'll take the man that has stood up to the relentless onslaught from the MSM, liberals, progressives Socialists, Democrats, [STRIKE]so called[/STRIKE] actual Republicans, deep staters &c.
I double dog dare you to give a name of anyone including yourself that would not have buckled already.
People cite his push back as if it is something bad. I think it is bigger brass ones than anyone else on the playground.
The whole concept of deep state is easy to understand, it revolves around money and it's circular relationship with power. People involved want the cash to continue to flow as it pays them and keeps them in power. Instability, uncertainty and interruptions of this cycle are all seen as a threats.
I don't see the people involved as evil, they are protecting their way of life. They don't see themselves as "Americans" anymore, but as part of a larger, global organization. Where they are mistaken in this country is that the people they are dealing with in the rest of the happy global organization still see themselves as Asian, European, or what ever, and act accordingly.
Money and power? I just call that politics. And that exist at every level down to the township, and has existed since people rose up and demanded a king (God said we'd regret that decision, and he was right).
It's the whole globalist / illuminist secret cabal that I do not subscribe to. Every reference to the deep state that I've heard at least implies such a thing. Then there's the rare instances where the deep staters aren't human, but reptiles...
I'm not into the whole "deep state" conspiracy, so...
I'm not really sure who I'd prefer, someone more "presidential", and fiscally conservative and not a lightning rod. Perhaps Nikki Haley... I still kind of like Kaisich (Hi, Bug!), and in my dreams Mitch Daniels is POTUS. I will say that none of those actually running, e.g. Bill Weld, are worthy of consideration.
[We can have him packaged and ready for shipment as soon as you place your order. Would never support him for national office, though. His morals make Trump look like a choir boy by comparison]
Trump's had near four years, and he's got some stuff done: knocked out Obama care mandates, lowered taxes. But, there's a lot he hasn't attempted to fix: immigration reform, reduce federal spending. And some things he really mucked up: tariffs, gun control. All this while continuing to polarize the American public.
As to the relentless onslaught - Trump brings it on himself. I honestly think he welcomes it as it strengthens his base and galvanizes his position that the American public should ignore any criticism of him. That's a huge factor in how he won, by branding anything negative of him as "fake news". Anyone else wouldn't have had near the scrutiny and hatred that he's had.[You mean like 'scandal-free' Obama? Because you certainly can't mean 'Anyone else' as in any Republican or Conservative]

I must disagree. I ignore criticism of Trump because the overwhelming majority of it to date has been ginned up out of nothing so my expectation is anything new (looking at you Bolton) will suffer from similar flaws
Sound like, "I like him, so I'll turn a blind eye to any criticism of him." Especially when you say, "out of nothing". The criticism is warranted, but not to the level the MSM plays it up.
Take just the latest teapot tempest I mentioned, John Bolton. What criticism of Trump that he proffers is worthy of my concern?
