I would think .22lr would be better trading stock than 9mm.

I agree with nearly anything that you have on hand that is larger than a .38 special on up to 50 BMG for those lucky enough to have one. Unfortunately, I stop at .30-'06 for rifles and Ruger .480 for pistols.
