Yeah, I just can't imagine that there's no market for asian carp.

There is a company called Omega3 that operates on the east coast.
They make fish oil products and additives for animal food.

There is no reason that I know of why they could not harvest these carp, and stop netting the baitfish that they do now.

I'm glad to get a chance to finally post in another forum.
My latest addiction has been bowfishing. You can shoot any breed of "rough" fish (all types of carp, gar, and so forth). All you need is a bow (old one will work just fine, and it can be compound or recurve) a bowfishing arrow, and some type of a reel. Depending on what type of setup you get on you bow you can spend very little or about as much as you'd like to. 40-50lbs draw weight is ideal, it lets you shoot out far enough, but will not provide with uneccessary overpower in the likely event you shoot into a lakebed or some type of debris. I'm just getting into it myself, but pm me if anyone has questions or anything about it. The silver carp give you the unique oportunity to shoot them out of the air also, which is an altoghether different experience. Theres tons of info online, and in some local archery shops for anyone interested. We need all the help we can get thinning the evergrowing heard. I don't eat these things myself, I've heard some say they're good eating, but I know they make great fertilizer, which leads me to think that if someone can make a fish launcher that you could skeet shoot and fertilize at the same time!
