Caleb's question about the cost of a marriage got me wondering- is this board a good place to ask? I just wonder how many folks here have been married or divorced and are soured by the experience.

Don't feel obligated to post your choice or why it turned out that way- I just thought the statistics would be interesting.

My dad's been married 5 times. He dated his current wife off and on for nine years before he finally proposed. He said he figured out the reason he kept getting divorced --- he kept getting married. And he kinda liked this one and wanted to keep her, so he didn't want to marry her.

Divorced 1 time. Never married again,but grumpe and I have been together for over 5 years now,so no exactly single either.

Funnier still... we were helping clean out my grandma's basement one day, and Dad is going through a box of old papers and photos and such, and comes across a photo of him and the woman he married after my mom. We're all gathered around chuckling at it, and my step-mom comes over and says, "Who's that?"
Dad: "Me and Kathy."
Neva: "Who's Kathy?"
Darling Daughter (me): "She's number three."
Neva: "Number three?"
Me: "Yes. Number three. You're number five. She's number three."
Dad (chagrined voice): "And there will be no number six." (which of course, earned him a kiss from Number Five.)

A while back I was hunting for the weekend and forwhater reason jackass called my cell. He asked what I was doing.....it had been raining and I shot a deer that morning so the truthful answer was "cleaning the shotgun and sharpening my knives" I just couldnt resist

First time said jackass steped foot it my house (he was bringing my step daughter home) I answered the door with a 1911 in my hand and had three other guns laying on the table....wife and I had been at the range.

I just have no idea why he is son nervous around me all the time.

Lasted 355 days and aged me 10 yrs.
Took me 12 yrs of partying to get over that, well I think that's why we were partying, hell it was the 80's it's all a bit of a blurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Met my current wife somewhere in there.
Got my stuff together and married her 18 yrs ago, Yesterday 11/24/90.
I found a keeper, I'll be here as long as she will put up with me.
