I used to be against OC.
After studying what people said about it here on INGO, especially in the OC sticky thread, I changed my opinion.
It was due to people arguing the point. Providing perspectives and facts.

With your argument, I'm just getting you repeating, that I'm wrong.
Try an argument. Try a fact.
Quote me something, that's a little more than a snippet taken from a larger document, and used out of context.

If I owned a business and an employee decided to use their "free speech" to criticize me, I get to use mine to say "you're fired". It has nothing to do with our gov't, the Bill of Rights or the US Constitution.

From my perspective I predict this thread will not end well.

I think the OP had one too many Anarchy Burgers and he wants the cheese to suffer.

INGO is about regular or bacon cheeseburgers....

I'll go turn the heat on in the Shooter thread. It's cold out there..

I see now what you mean.
I am continually amazed. The 1A is probably the most misinterpreted piece of text in American history. Or, to paraphrase Inigo Montoya...I do not think that Amendment means what you think it means. :)

The first two really seem to confuse a lot of people.

Answer a couple of questions please.
    • What does the US Constitution constitute?
    • What does it regulate.

If one understands that the Constitution is in place to supposedly prevent a despotic government, but, also to protect the rights of the individual from a mob, there is no explanation necessary.

What people are asking is where do you get this impression?

    I'm a bit confused here.
The 1A protects private citizens under the employ of other private citizens from the consequences of their own words, right?
Given that the Bill of Rights is a document that specifically circumscribes the federal government's actions, who exactly is the designated protector of the employed private citizens' rights?

Ok OP, let us try a different approach. Back when the Dixie Chicks were bashing Bush, many radio stations refused to play their music. Should someone have stepped in and made them keep airing the Dixie Chicks?

Are you old enough to remember Jimmy The Greek getting fired almost 29 years ago from CBS for something he said?

Seeing perspectives such as this explains everything about why this Republic is in the downward spiral it is in. Weak-willed, weak-minded souls...

I am neither a weak-willed nor a weak-minded soul, but you have chosen an indefensible position on this one.

Step back, check your perspective, start over.
