Very cool! Thanks for the pics!

What were the goals you guys set out to accomplish for this trip? Did you accomplish them? Any memorable "learning moments"? What kind of drills did you run?

    Targets were lucky charms drill

    Syllabus

    Safety Brief
    Stance (dry and hot)

-Reloads and Malfunctions (dry and hot)
    -admin
    -speed
-slap, rack, bang (failure to fire)

    -Target selection (dry and hot)

    -Reaction Drills (dry and hot)
    -facing different directions
-emphasis on barrel sweep and working the safety
    -use with target selection

    -Positions (dry and hot)

-Move, Moving drill (move, stop, shot, move) (dry and hot)
-emphasis on stance, safety, and looking over sights while moving

    -Continuous movement (dry and hot)
-emphasis on working the safety and looking over the sights

    -Transitions from primary to secondary
-Barricades and Obstacles (popping out, positions, shooting through cover) (dry and hot)
-emphasis on: working the safety, sight over bore ratio, stance, positions

-Final move, shoot, barricades (dry and hot)
-emphasis on: working the safety, barrel sweeps
    -use move, moving commands

We always had one on the video and one calling the commands. This gave us two sets of eyes at all times watching what everyone was doing.

If you can teach it, you can do it. I personally had a couple of times where I suddenly couldn't hit. Then the instructor role would walk over, tell you to calm down and break a clean shot.

    Memorable moments

One shooter didn't have his red dot on or even scope caps flipped up. Three times. The third time he got ribbed and he didn't do it again.

Transitions with the wrong hand three times. The third time it was taped and the shooter was shown what they were doing. It changed right after that.

I don't shoot that well with no sleep. I worked midnights the night before and was dog tired.

The PS90 has a crazy high bore over axis with that eotech. The barricade drill was a challenge with it.

I now have a long list of things I need.

    Wow thanks!

Awesome! I find video tape and pictures to be powerful tools when looking to analyze your own technique. Sometimes you just have to SEE yourself doing it.

I wondered about that. Any idea what distances he's zero'd at? I would think that close-in stuff would be tough too with such a great holdover.

Lots learned by all that day . Working at stuff like this is humbling, but with the right group someone always has an eye out and catches mistakes.taking the criticism and trying something different is the only way to improve. I think everyone saw improvement that day:D

I've already got a file. Might as well have some fun.

If you never have any fun because you might have a file afterwards I am so sorry.

He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Sailor was giving you an "Attaboy" for getting a training group together (something he is known to do as well).
