I have the same attitude about anyone advocating for raising taxes who don't pay more than required voluntarily.

I think some British chick said something about that, but I wasn't really paying attentioon.

Not the same thing. Raising taxes implies that they will pay more as well. I understand that they don't actually plan to do so, but if they don't walk the walk, they aren't worth listening to.

Likewise, I have the same attitude towards those who tell me that I need to curb my energy usage while jetting around, owning multiple large homes, etc, etc. I don't begrudge them their material success, but their sermonizing hypocrisy insures that I won't listen to or vote for them.

I think we're on the same page, but each of us are phrasing it differently.

"Socialism" is today's convenient label for the government system to facilitate easing into the system yet to come. The more socialist we can go now the smaller the drop off will be later. There are great and wonderful plans afoot for successful tracking of consumption and allocation of resources, management of the means of production, control of the residual human resources. The history of this time is what scripture says more about than any other. We're fortunate to be allowed to be here now to see it. Eh, or perhaps you deserve it depending upon your beliefs. Oh well, either way it's quite a show.

Meanwhile, the minds in love with themselves are hard at it.
