There is a rare two seater training Sr-71 at the AirZoo in Kalamazoo, MI. I was really surprised at how small the plane is. As a kid, I pictures it much larger.

As to the cockpit, that is an insane amount of info. Great picture.

My home computer does not have a steering wheel......... so much for progress. :(
    Thats cause it's a throttle.
Left - Throttle Control Panel (Or maybe it was Steam Plant Control Panel)
    Center - Reactor Control Panel
Right - Electric Plant Control Panel.

Spent 3.5 years at the center panel. Not including the 2.5 years to learn it.

I have some similar pics I took at the USAF museum in Dayton years ago. You used to be able to walk under it and everything, but last time I was there they had a rail around it. Only the front seat was open back then, the rear cockpit was always shut. It's an amazing piece of engineering, IMHO, it far outshines the modern day systems we have simply because of its phenomenal performance, considering the technology that was used to build it.

    To All,

I wouldn't want to be in there.

There is no pop can holder. No cigarette lighter. No ashtray.

It doesn't even have an indash clock. Sheesh!

    What were they thinking...?:dunno:

This thing is lacking in all the civilized requirements for travel.

    Regards,

    Doug;)
