Mine has ran on factory rounds and 1.180.. I load all my 40s to 1.135 hehe but ya know where mine came from... And in the process of getting another one from the same place. (He's the man) just sayin

No wonder you can't do the class! :):

Y'all and your salty limited guns. :n00b:

How many people that shoot like we do run factory ammo?

    true enough.

    Riverman,

I've got a bunch of the 45 Chip mags. If you don't have one handy, look me up after the next match.

    I'll do that
I have had some work done on this gun since I had all the issues with it. I haven't shot it much since. I'm going to give it a fair chance before I make a trot line anchor out of it.
All this talk about STI single stacks got me fired up.
Rob my magwell looks just like the one on your new gun,it's very nice by the way.
I may get the file out this evening.

I did a little dry fire with it yesterday. It may not look like much, but that extra opening and blending on the TRP makes a big difference. Hitting 2-reload-2 in under 2 seconds is relatively easy with it, with the new gun, not so much.

It needs to be cerakoted, the cold blue lasts for maybe 2 dry fire sessions and then it looks like it does in that pic.

So far, since last spring when I bought the Limited gun, I've got 20K of .40 downrange. Of that, 100 rounds were factory ammo. Donnie Miculek sends me a Christmas card....

It's built as a gamers gun, IMO.

    Heh! Donnie loves you!

That's the way it should be done!

If I had a drill press and some machining skill, that's what I'd be doing this afternoon.

The 1911 design originally came from the 1900 Colt pistol design by JMB and it was in .38 acp

    1900_318a.jpg

then the 1902 in 38 acp

And from that the 1905 in .45acp

Then the 1907 Colt in .45acp

Then the 1909 gets rid of the double link barrels that the others used

    Then the 1910

Then the 1911 followed by the 1911A1

I have had 3 STI hi cap guns that will run factory winchester white box 165gr all the way out to 1.25oal reloads, the brazos (with the original barrel and slide and the replacement) and both Anglin guns.

You talk to one gunsmith and they say use .45 mags for a 40 ss, another will say use only "x brand" for 40 ss.....

I have everything but a frame and some small parts for a 40 ss build, and at some point I will get it built. For one reason. 1 load for ss and limited

I use the same load for both SS and Limited. If everything is fit correctly they should run on any ammo.
