    Thanks again, everyone!

As I move forward with the new job, my primary goal will be to replenish my savings as rapidly as I can. On the bright side, I have become accustomed to my version of "austerity measures," so it won't be so bad! Living more frugally and making progress is way, way better than living more frugally to prolong the depletion of assets!

    Well . . .

Once again, thank you to all of you.

This morning I was speaking with my new boss on the phone about what kind of smart phone I should get, which mobile plan, what extra gear I wanted for my new laptop, where training would start on Monday, and other standard onboarding stuff.

Then I got a call from him late this afternoon. From the "How does this even happen?!?" department, I was informed that they had a call today with their business partner (provider of the product they sell and support) who is instituting some changes that will prevent them from adding me to their team. The job offer was rescinded. I'm still having a little trouble accepting that it happened.

I asked directly if this was about me, but he assured me that it was entirely on the other end (he was obviously contrite). My growing excitement about joining this team and this job is no more, but the good news is that they really wanted me, which boosts my confidence moving forward.

    The job search resumes . . .

Well crap. Sorry to hear this rhino, but like you said, they wanted you, and it gave you a boost in confidence. Sometimes projecting that confidence can go a long way with a potential employer, so maybe this will still end up being a positive for you. What's that saying? "When God closes a door, he opens a window."

I told you not to ask for a raise on the first day.

That is some messed up ****. Something good will come from this, you'll see.

I am so very sorry to hear about today's turn of events. :(
I think you have a good attitude about it. I am agreeing with the many INGO members in believing that you will get the job you want.
