Is this thing for real? Wow, real men DON'T wear skirts!

I know a number of kilt wearers who would take offense to a statement like that and would make their displeasure known in a lasting way.

What a "real man" might look like. And, in case you're not familiar with the Caber Toss, that little stick he's throwing is the size of a telephone pole.

What's the difference between the skirt and kilt? They look the same and are made the same way. Perhaps skirts are normally pink?

There was no insult intended. But can you tell me the difference? Both wrap around a person (man or women), both are cut above the knee, both have the same look and style, neither have pants or shorts fixed inside them. Shorts, jeans, sweat pants, slacks are all called the same thing regardless if they are mens or womens. So why is a kilt not a skirt?

Perhaps you should go back and read through some of the history I provided. Kilts and other unbifrucated garments have been worn throughout history by many different cultures, long before "proper" people wore pants.

Kilts are longer versions of a loin cloth. Skirts are a shortened version of a dress. Women don't wear kilts, unless they're cross dressing.

Kilts typically open on the right, skirts open on the left. If you wear underwear with your kilt it it then a skirt.- George
