    TEA Party Going After Lugar

Even after having met with them, in an effort to convince them of his conservative bona fides, the TEA Party folks remain unconvinced and are planning to go after him in the primary. I have very little faith that this will work. That's a powerful machine and there are entirely too many voters out here that will push his button, due to his seniority and party backers. The gop is going to back Luger, this is a given. The question is will the challengers buck the system? I do wish them luck. I also think it's a given that most voters will vote for Luger, should he win his primary, rather than vote for a 3rd party or a dem. That's how we got Coates.

his campaign sent me a petition to put him on the ballot. im tempted on sending a brick back to them wrapped to the return postage paid envelope.
I bet I will never get another piece of crap mail from them after they pay like $15 for an envelope ;)

I wont compromise anymore, no matter who gets elected as a result. so I wont be voting for Dick. If everyone would do that then we would stop putting Dicks into office.

Lugar has to go, even if we have to elect a Democrat-Socialist. If we're going to have a leftist as a Senator, it might just as well be a Democrat. I'm tired of professional politicians.

Lugar has NEVER been conservative, but he has talked a good game. He's the Republican Evan Bayh. I have avoided voting for him for 20 years and I think I can keep up my streak. I will vote for almost anyone that runs against him in the primary.

I am so confused. I was pretty sure Dick Lugar was the Democrat/Socialist from Indiana and Evan Bayh was the socially moderate fiscal neo-con. Now we have Coats and Lugar. The worst of both worlds and both proclaiming to be conservative GOP members. We are so screwed.

I got one of those too. I thought about writing "No f-ing way" on the petition and sending it back.

What you are seeing is the evolution of the political process. You can vote for the candidates but the power machine will pick who you can vote for.

I got the petition also. I sent it back with this written in bold block letters.
    "Dick Lugar is a RINO"
"How do you spell term limits?"
"I will vote for the opposition"
Hopefully the TP will come up with quality challenger.

Not at all if you HAD/WILL drink the kool-aid. Not that we know you are NOT drinking the kool-aid I'm gonna have to report you so that they begin to force-feed you the kool-aid.

Good. No matter how you look at it.he is as dangerous or maybe more so,than the socialist that are living in the white house. He is a coward that hides behind his republican base. The only difference is Barry and co. Are proud and let you know they are socialist.

I got the same letter..... I pulled everything out, then put everything (old envelope included) back in the postage paid envelope, and dropped it in the mail :)

Lugar is a sell out and will not get my vote. If I have to chose between lugar and a demacrat I'll vote for the demacrat hoping he/she only gets 1 term and then is out rather than prolonging Lugars career for another 10 years.

I just can't get past how he voted for Kegan for the Supreme Court. That just ticked me off so much. What a sellout.

Agree, if you elect a person on the Republican ticket and they always vote hand in hand with Dems, then what was the point of the election?

Rush brought this up on his show a few months back when talking about the Delaware senate race.
