New to the CZ platform could I get some feedback, opinions on the CZ 75 compact and the CZ 85 combat
    Thanks in advance

I'd love to help you but you might have to narrow down your question a bit. As far as a general opinion of the guns, I think they are both great. Both are all steel and are therefore very stable shooting platforms. CZs are known for their ergonomics and both of these are excellent examples of that.

So, I set down and get deep into this one

3 hours later it is ready for function test.
All external controls are now stainless.
Entire ignition control group is new. All are EGW pieces.
    MagWell, grips, Pearce enhancements

Both of those are variations on the basic CZ 75 platform. The compact comes with a reduced length barrel (3.8 down from 4.6 IIRC) and a shorter grip. The 85 is ambidextrous, but might be standard otherwise. Someone will correct me on that if I'm wrong. My favorite of the CZ 75 family for carry is the compact and IMHO, it represents the best all steel 9mm service pistol on the market today. My favorite for shooting are the full size, but not by much. The standard compact is just a couple of ounces lighter than the full size, so it shoots just as nicely.

CZs also come in decocker versions, Omega versions, aluminum framed versions and stainless versions. The basic family can be had in either 9mm or .40 but the .40 offerings are not as abundant as the 9mm are.

It's amazing what some parts and talent can turn either a 1911 or CZ into. Will that one be at the shoot?
