The closer we get to the end of these investigations into Obamagate, the worse the media and the left will get in terms of destruction. Don't overlook the fact that the riots over George Floyd are a convenient distraction from what is going on within the DOJ and Senate committees.

I still don't hold out much hope that the DOJ will be willing to take the investigation all the way to the top, but at this point it seems the play is to wait until closer to the election to reveal details, hand down indictments. I expect this to really ramp up towards end of the summer into September.

    Clinesmith's attorney said this:

"Kevin deeply regrets having altered the email," his attorney, Justin Shur, said in an email. "It was never his intent to mislead the court or his colleagues as he believed the information he relayed was accurate. But Kevin understands what he did was wrong and accepts responsibility."

BULL****! He regrets he got caught. Period.

And anyone believes his intent was not to deceive and mislead... I've got swampland, errr, ummm, development property for sale!

Clinesmith’s name first made national news after his anti-Trump text messages to another FBI attorney, Sally Moyer, surfaced following a separate OIG investigation of anti-Trump bias from top FBI attorneys and investigators.
“I’m just devastated,” Clinesmith texted to Moyer shortly after Trump won the presidential election in November of 2016. “Plus, my god damned name is all over the legal documents investigating his staff,” Clinesmith wrote.

“Is it making you rethink your commitment to the Trump administration?” Moyer later asked Clinesmith, ostensibly referring to Clinesmith’s plan to remain at the FBI after Trump’s inauguration.

“Hell no,” Clinesmith responded. “Viva le resistance.”

The FBI under obama was an apolitical agency... No political motive here, pure as the wind driven snow I tell you.

FISA warrants were all on the up and up.

WTF? Accepts responsibility? Accepting responsibility also means accepting consequences for your actions. In a just world, that's jail, mother****er.

I remember from shortly after the election, reports leaked out that Hillary went on a wild rant screaming that they were all gonna hang or some other such metaphor. I mean. If that was true, it could have been over Democrats' use of government agencies to help assure their victory. I'm pretty sure they expected to win. So then that could explain why they tried so hard to get Trump out of office before it could be exposed. Of course that's all wild ass speculation. But this is INGO, so wtf.

How on earth would he even avoid jail time?

That offense has to be some of the highest crimes someone can commit in the country.

Does anyone really think that anything will come of this?

If it were Republicans were on trial they would be sent up for the process crime of misstating their wife's dress size.

Since they are Democrats (deep state, progressive, socialists) nothing will be done at all.

No. I don’t expect much at all. Maybe some indictments for low level people.

If Trump gets a second term, I think heads will roll. Feel free to disagree, but this looks like the prelude to getting even to me.
Can't aggressively pursue people just ahead of the election though.

You have to remember, democrats aren't as wound as tight as they are for no reason. Their supporters, sure, but the big power players know this could get ugly.

I disagree... I do get the feeling that Barr and Durham are by the book prosecutors and if anything, are making sure to only bring slam dunk charges to avoid any appearance of political prosecutions.

If laws were broken and can be proven, charges will be brought. Rank abuse of power is not necessarily illegal.
