started playing fortnight with the kids. I like it, but I'm terrible. I Actually killed three people the last game I played, first time I actually killed someone

The learning curve is huge. Its definitely different than cod or bf1. Ive noticed i do better when i consciously make the decision to let people i MIGHT be able to take out pass by. I usually only fight when i know i can snag a kill or if its defensive

I suck at it. Always bottom half. My kid does alright though. He usually gets at least one 1st place in a few hours session. Skill gap is fairly high, so slower reacting people like me are at a big disadvantage.

So... this may be a HUGE deal

Essentially every Oculus Rift is "bricked". Oculus/Facebook "forgot" to renew their security certificates and replace them in time before expiry. Now they expired, and the devices won't accept new firmware updates... and since they can't update, there's no way to update the cert on the devices. Every Rift will likely require a recall for repair.

Workaround is to change the time on your computer, at the moment.

yeah, I was not happy with Oculus last night.....I re-arranged my basement for more space and when I hooked up all the cameras and headset I got no rift!

Edit, it looks like everything will be fixed pretty easily. I have an email with a link to a patcher and a $15 credit. The only question is should I buy onward or something else? I already have pavlov and prefer it to how slow onward can be.

Don't do PC, but as far as fortnight, I think the matchmaking is level based. That's not the same thing as skill, if that's what you're asking.

Speaking of fortnight, has anyone tried the new 5x20 mode? Kinda frustrating I think. Trying to get a team of 20 to work together seems to add a lot more frustration. Especially when teammates **** you. You kill someone and someone jumps in and takes all the best stuff before you can get to it. Or they won't revive you. Or they just all suck. I just can't see that mode staying popular beyond the novelty of playing it.
