CZ75. If you know the very basics of sighting, you can hit with it like a pro. Perfect contours, excellent reliability, all with a high capacity right out of the gate; unlike some other firearms.

Walther P38 maybe. Thats pretty much what all modern 1911 or Beretta style guns are based on isnt it? Hats off to the Germans once again.

Also, I think we can thank the Germans MG42, which we evolved into the m60, then the m240, etc.

Hmmm... You are right about the Beretta 92 being based on the Walther P38, but WAY off base with the 1911. The 1911 was introduced in 1911, and the P38 was introduced in 1938... So which one comes first class?

My vote goes for the 1911 of course.

Based upon private customers buying what they think is best for them:

Glock has sold, in ≈ 26 years, MORE than 7,000,000 pieces. Which does not include their International sales or LEO / Mil. 1911-types have not even APPROACHED that in OVER 100 years. Again, NOT including any sales to LEO / Mil. Can you say "Best" in Austrian? Contest over. GLOCK: 7-million votes. 1911 and all the rest: < . Sorry, but that is not an opinion.
o if only they would make one. it would sell millions, or none at all.

Numbers are important. First love is important. Feel and comfort are important.
Many great guns mentioned. Hi-power browning, sig, glock, so on and so forth.
Love all of my guns, steel and plastic, black blue and stainless. Love all of them or they would not be in the safe.
To me the 1911 is just so damn sexy....:patriot:

    PhotoShopped GLOCKs ...

... don't shoot well. Besides, GLOCK is only that name glued on there.

I'm sure Wal Mart has sold a ton more of Great Value brand merchandise using low-cost, mass production techniques and clever marketing over the years than any of the top 10 user rated quality merchandising in virtually any field. Doesn't mean it isn't mass-produced, cheap production; just means they are the best of the lowest bidders. Hi-Point with a shine-job and a PR firm.
