Being the pragmatist, I'm willing to set aside my Nationalism and look at the big picture.

That assumes that the taxpayers should be paying the health care costs, lost wages, disability, etc. in the first place.

Let's rephrase as "the economy". If someone gets mangled at Tyson, and Tyson takes care of its employees, then the cost of chicken goes up a fraction; thus we all pay (expect vegetarians).

The shop says 98% of its customers are women so they don't even offer Brazilian waxes for men. The client says 'hold up, I'm not a man, just a chick with balls' and files a $50,000 law suit.

Let's see how quickly the social justice crowd can work their mental gymnastics to explain away why this is different than forcing a Christian bakery to make a cake for a gay wedding.
