I used to razz some formerly active hardcore libertarians here about that. They're so opposed to using force but they'd have to use force to get their way. They just seemed to think that someday the system would just crash, and then some magical revolution would happen, much like the idiot Marxists thought, and then they'd usher in their utopia. Except, I'd say, it would have to be by force. Their way is just not in league with human nature. Liberty is the result of people consciously overriding their programming. It's not as natural as people like to believe. It's not an easy sell. It's hard to gain. And I wish people weren't so ***damn eager to be rid of it. But they are. And that's a reason we're getting used to standing in lines.

So the libertarians are in control now? ;)

And this is the core philosophy of anarcho-fascism.

Hilariously, it's a very valid and realistic approach to achieving a reduced or eliminated state presence.

That's the problem with many "isms". I suppose one could say that each "ism" purports to encompass some great truth/ideology. The dangerous ones are the ones where the "truth" includes a need to force the ideology on everyone else. Those, I'd say are active isms (see what I did there?) where a goal is to force one's ism on everyone else. Then there are the passive isms too. Those are pretty benign. The concept of liberty is a passive ism. Its mode of spread is not to force the people to conform to an ideology, like communism. It's mode of spread is persuasion that this is a better way for individuals.

Maybe it does require force to gain independence from an oppressive state power. It did for the US revolution. And I suppose that maybe some libertarians fancy themselves as revolutionaries willing to fight to impose liberty upon the people whether they want it or not. I'd say the thing that differentiates imposing liberty vs cultivating liberty is whether the people are with you or against you.

I’m seeing a couple of things hinting Amash has given up this pipe dream? No confirmed articles yet.

I dunno. Everyone's reporting that he's not gonna do it. I think it's safe to say it's not happening. NYT, Politico. MarketWatch, NPR, CNN all reporting on it. His tweets this weekend heavily imply he's not running. And it seems to be because he does not want to take votes away from Biden (orwhoeverthe**** the DNC nominates). The TDS has become that strong.

The honest position should be "**** the republic-rats and **** the demonc-rats" I'm setting out.

Here's a blast from the recent past.

WELD: Well I’m here vouching for Mrs. Clinton and I think it’s high time somebody did, and I’m doing it based on my personal experience with her and I think she deserves to have people vouch for her other than members of the Democratic National Committee, so I’m here to do that.
