So Sorry for the Loss, Eric always seemed to be on top of the issues, knowledgeable and even handed. I for one will miss his wit and charm. Prayers for Eric, his family and for all that will miss him.

    God Bless Eric

Wow this is quite the shock. I met Eric, DH and SjStill at the Glock sport shoot this past summer. Didn't even know he had heart problems.... I don't have a bookfull of what I would consider friends, so the ones I do have I hold great respect for.

You will be missed my friend...prayers to his family and other friends he's left behind. Save us a spot for when we meet again.

    26??????

    What horrible, horrible news.

Thoughts and prayers on the way.

What a terrible loss to not only this gun board, but society in general.

My apologies if I looked past it, but what were the complications?

According to the Eagle Creek webpage, "Eric recently found that he had torn his aorta and damaged a heart valve. He passed during surgery. Eric was a great guy, and we will miss him terribly. "

For reference's sake, I will note that for him to "find" he had torn his aorta, (which is the largest artery in the body and about as big around as your thumb) and to have time to do anything about it is miraculous. Aortal tears have been known to kill people in a matter of seconds. I will not go so far as to say that he was lucky, but that he had a chance to get into surgery and have a fighting chance to live, THAT is lucky.

    FWIW...

    Blessings,
    B

    Vern,

That is sad news. From what was said at the range on Sunday it seemed it was going to be a routine type of thing.

It hurts that he has passed and my prayers go out to him and his family.

Being new to the area he was one of the few new people that I have met. He was a great guy and he will be missed dearly.
