If I was with Hilltop I sure as hell would want another leader besides Gregory.

His attitude alone with Maggie was pure horsecrap. It not only was extremely rude, but she bent him over HARD when the tables were turned. That isn't in Maggie's character normally. It was her natural response to being called Natalie (more than once) along with the other degrading treatment.

A leader has to lead his/her own people, but he/she also has to be diplomatic with others. His total lack of diplomacy cost his own group far more than it should have, and in the long game may well have poisoned relations between Ricks group and his own.

They don't need a leader like that. That is more harm than good in my opinion.

I was also not impressed with writing a character like that as a leader. He's not charismatic, he's not intimidating. He's just full of crap and full of himself. Did he make the group think he was more intelligent? He just strikes me as someone the residents would have given the finger to immediately.

Just wait... I would say more but don't want to spoil the story.

    I DVRd it.
    Hope to watch it tomorrow.
Watched it this evening. I was surprised that Rick hired them out to attack this Negan's camp. Why not just tell these lovable losers that he is taking their ****. Is they want to join up with them, they can, except dear leader.

Not only would it be immoral to attack the Hill community, if he successfully attacks Negan he gets a twofer
-gets a bunch of stuff they need
-gets rid of a future problem (Negan)

-well really a three-for. If this were to be successful, they might have continued positive trade with the other community.

If he attacks the other community, he may get stuff but he has a new enemy and no future trade with them

Rick hasn't done any scouting and agrees to fight...just because. About as reckless as putting the RV in a mud hole. The show runners are pushing believability to the limits with this stupidity.

Because that would deviate from Akira Kurosowa's "Seven Samurai" film....Which, apparently, is what this seasons story line is totally stolen from.....

They need to give Akira at least a nod.....

    Oh...And where's Carol????

I was wondering the same thing but I think I have it figured out now.

She is their secret weapon. If/when they get in trouble and are captured, she just saunters in and saves them all... again.

So far the TV version is very much like the comic book version of Gregory.
