    My guess: He gets captured by the whisperer group or the freaky trash lady, vanished etc. (maybe hides under a dumpster) and comes back in a future season.

    They said he is leaving the show but I didn't think I ever heard "dead".

    I still want to know what happened to that Busse Team Gemini Darryl had until he got caught by the Saviors. I'm guessing one of them was a Busse collector and we'll never see it again!

    It would seem that with the announcement of the Rick Grimes movies (not sure if any of you watch Talking Dead, I normally don't, but did this time) AMC is milking the TWD universe for all they can get.

    Printcraft nailed it.

    Now we know why they were so open about him leaving the show and allowing us to assume he was going to die. It was a trick!

    Now I also see why the main producer turned the reigns of the show over to his successor. He's moving forward with the expansion of the franchise.

    I rarely watch Talking Dead as well but did last night and when they mentioned that, I really had flashbacks of the Avengers and all the other franchises they're making movies of left and right
