    Its quick
    It's cheap
It taste the SAME everywhere in the USA
And we have at least 1 to 2 generations that grew up on it.

That is the draw to it.
Granted that is changing a bit with the younger generation.

    Cheap, and relatively consistent.

I remember as a kid in the 1960's we would travel the US when dad was between duty assignments in the Army. McD's, while not the greatest, was consistent wherever we went.

And the menu was simple then: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, drinks, and shakes.

Today, you may have to wait a few minutes in the drive through because the guy ahead of you ordered McPizza or whatever they added to the menu this week.

    Could be anywhere
Consistent 'quality' and fast...I won't contest those claims. Me, I'd rather pack a sandwich than eat what they're selling, I hated going to McD when I was a kid; I knew what actual food was supposed to look and taste like. Each to their own.

Was at the local McD's in Madison just yesterday. Couldn't believe it - they had a post at the door for NO FIREARMS ALLOWED. Is this at ALL McD's?

Nothing like a target rich environment!

That's why the guy in the OP went through the drive-through.

It is not a mcd corporate policy.
