Not looking for a pat on the back but I do feel kinda good about this.
This month is our 20th anniversary and we couldnt decide what to do for each other. She offered to buy me the new Ruger 1911 But neither she nor I could decide what would be special to her.

Finally she came out and said a nice camera is what she really wanted about $1400.00

We couldn't do both and since I have all the guns I need (can't believe I actually said that)I gave her my share of the money we were to spend so she could get a camera.

So yea, felt good not to put my addiction first :rockwoot:

The only reason I post this is I seldom if ever turn down a free gun. At 50 maybe I am growing up finally?

You'll get more use out of a nice camera than a new Ruger 1911(i.e. not exactly an EDC) anyway.

She might be the picture taker, but you'll get your fair share of use out of it as well.

Yeah, you deserve a pat on the back for that one, but I can only give you some rep.

Happy wife, happy house - and some *** coming (I'm certain). You definitely made the right choice. I think your man card should be safe.

Now you can forgo a few future firearms purchases so that you can get good lenses!!!!!

And good filters for the lenses (Graduated ND, circular polarizer, warming, etc)

    And external hard drive space.

And more Class 10 SD HC cards.

    And a good camera bag.

    And a good tripod.

And a good "head" for the tripod.

And good photo editing software (though there ARE several free ones that are very good)

    And...

I'm currently in the process of building an enclosure out of 2" thick lexan to protect my camera so I can put it down range when i shoot and protect it from shrapnel. hate to destroy 4+ grand worth of camera equipment with a ricochet.

Go to BH Photo for you camera gear they usually have the best prices and their service is excellent. www.bhphotovideo.com
