Perfect scenario for a machete defense

I have seen a knife used successfully against 3 armed attackers. The targeted victim gutted (literally, intestines rolled out) the first attacker in a doorway, the other two would have had to step over their now screaming buddy to reach him and decided to flee out the back door instead.

I'm thinking the victim had training in knife skills!:)

Dunno, but he'd previously shot and killed a robber as well. He was in a line of work that was often targeted for robberies and was prepared. At very least he had the proper tools and mindset.

    .
In the cases I worked with 3+ attackers on one victim they all ended in one of two way. The suspects fled as soon as they shooting started or the victim lost. Nobody stayed in the fight long enough to need to reload. Multiple muggers don't tend to stand around like a target array. They flank and surround, with few exceptions that are generally indoors crimes where doorways, etc. inhibit their ability to do so.

When I encounter multiple trespassers out here a big warning is one engaging you in conversation while the other moves to the side of you. I move away so both stay in front of me. It's happened twice no guns drawn or threats made.
