I don't predict that we are headed for peaceful coexistence. Unfortunately at least half of this country gets out of bed every day searching for something to be pissed off about and someone to blame it on and that isn't going to change until they have real concerns to occupy their time and energy. We have become the softest, most spoiled populace on the planet.

It's impossible for me to imagine people this unhappy, there is so much good to enjoy. Some people must enjoy being angry and screaming about it.

Spend enough time looking at the reality of the situation instead of ignoring it because "we're better that that" and you'll realize that all liberal are alike and traitors.

    Hence the popularity of twitter...

    https://www.cnet.com/news/almost-all-political-tweets-come-from-just-10-of-twitter-users/

There's no question that Twitter plays a major role in US politics, particularly with its policy of letting world leaders like President Donald Trump tweet what they want, even if those tweets violate the tech giant's rules of engagement. But only 22% of Americans actually use Twitter, and of those, most political tweets are coming from a very small number, according to a Wednesday report from the Pew Research Center.

Pew analyzed the tweets of more than 2,400 random US adults with public Twitter accounts from June 2018 to June 2019, as they produced more than 1.1 million tweets. While 39% of users studied tweeted at least once about national politics over the year, 97% of the tweets mentioning national politics came from just 10% of users, the study found.

Twitter users who strongly disapprove of Trump are prominent on the platform: These users generate 80% of all tweets from US adults, and 72% of tweets mentioning politics, Pew found. Those who strongly approve of Trump generate only 11% of all tweets from US adults, and 25% of tweets about national politics.

The reason behind this is tied to two things, Pew said. People who disapprove of Trump make up a larger share of Twitter users than the general population (55% vs. 48%), and this group is more likely to tweet about politics than other groups on Twitter.

You are ignoring the vast swath of INGO who don't bother to comment on Politics...

I see more 1% left, 1% right, 98% leave me alone IDGAF

Oh, I get it. But reading some of the comments here you'd think America is 80% left, 51% right (hence the persecution complex, and simultaneously being the majority), and 99% idiots, 0% thinkers that haven't hit the extremes, and -5% good at math.

My wife is from Poland, when the old USSR ran things...She and many other Poles cannot believe what America is allowing to happen to this great country. They talk about the controls put upon them under the USSR and the lack of most personal freedoms. Why are we trading freedom for governmental control. She and the others shake their heads at this. This is why they came here. To be all they can be, free of those socialist and communist controls. Our young people today would trade it all for a freee cell phone, free school and great internet speeds! Truly sad. Biden wins and this country NEVER recovers, never

For various reasons a lot of people in our major institutions have been brainwashed into more collectivist thinking. I don't think that a Biden win would necessarily create circumstances we could never recover from. Nor that a Trump win would or could even prevent it. I kinda don't think it's up to our leaders. It's up to the people to utterly reject this nonsense. Of course it would help if our leaders did what they can to preserve the bill of rights. I think that's actually more likely under Trump than under Biden. Biden does not display any acknowledgement that there is even a problem on the Left, let alone that there is a need to address it, or even individual rights to protect. This is why I do not think that any Democrat is fit to lead unless they can do that.

That said, I can imagine some scenarios where Biden wins, but Leftist Revolutionaries retreat. I can also imagine some scenarios where Trump wins, but Leftist Revolutionaries advance.

Milton Friedman "I do not believe it's proper to put the situation in terms of industrialist versus government. On the contrary, one of the reasons why I am in favor of less government is: because when you have more government industrialists take it over, and the two together form a coalition against the ordinary worker and the ordinary consumer."

That's an excellent starting point for a discussion of those who have stated so eloquently for oh so many years that they intend to not leave them alone.

For anyone who just doesn't get it, why don't you pay attention to the annual meetings that your elected politicians attend. Start with Davos.

Starting to strongly think the only way past this banana republic is if the states secede and reform the federal government.

Because if this stands, the federal government will no longer have any legitimacy, but they will still hold enormous power. Bad things usually happen in situations like that.

That’s nonsense. Probably best not to bother reading the blogs of ideologues lest they infect you with their ideological nonsense.
