Make the trade and sell it off later or trade it toward a G23 if you don't like it. Try it out for a while and see what you think. I think that everyone here has the same feeling about this. The SA is worth more. That pretty much says it all.

Should have seen this coming. I'm out. I have a rule never to spend over $300 on a used Taurus for any reason whatsoever. I'm not about to break it now.

Trade it. I agree that the .40 is a better caliber but the XD is way better than a Taurus.

Trade it and then get you a .40 companion piece later.

If it was me I would trade for sure but if you like your Taurus a lot then keep it. If your on the fence and then trade the XD for a .40 you like?

How does a bill of sale protect you? Any police office should be willing to run a NICS check for you for free. Call your local non-emergency police number.

I hope the guy you were going to trade with hasn't seen this thread and is now no longer willing to trade without asking for $$ on top. I think it's a great trade up for you, but you now have 3 pages advertising the trade down for him...

oh the guy was aware of what he was getting into. I was completely open with him about the trade. He was specific in wanting to trade for a larger caliber, and had been having trouble getting someone to trade. I was on the fence about trading it anyway. the more I play with it the more I am ok with it. I texted him early in the week and he has yet to respond. I doubt this trade will materialize. not worried about it. going to shoot the daylights out of it this weekend. joshua
