I wish something positive will come from this strike for my plant. Make us GM in whole or close the gates. This having 2 separate contracts is bull dookie. We (GMCH) get hosed EVERY contract.

LOL, the UAW defectors say the corrupt ones are like Trump.
    Boolsheet.

    Stereotypical Democrat nonsense.
    "Squeaky clean" my arse.

UAW has been rotten like the rest of Detroit forever.

Was looking for the pic of the union boss in the bathtub with the umbrella drink while at a 'conference'. Google doesn't seem to want to show it. hmmmm

Doesn't help that I'm henpecking on an ipad, but would have thought it would come up easily in image searches. hmmm

Sqeaky clean in the post above is what made me think of it.

The Union's budget may last 60 weeks but I don't think the family budgets and lifestyles of the union members can hold out that long. Many people live paycheck to paycheck and most buy their houses, cars, toys, etc. on credit and need a full salary every week to meet the Vig.

If you were making GM plant money and didn't have a big cushion set aside, well...

I don't have a lifestyle per se except eating.
All toys paid, no mortgage or vehicle payments (Thank you Dave Ramsey!!!), just utilities and food. We set back money so bumps in the road are minor just like we were taught in class.

My wife and I saved money just in case we went on strike, and she's still working so we're good. Some people just can't save whether they make 8 bucks an hour or 28. And of course in some cases life happens and they just can't save. It's hitting everyone differently and I'm not one to judge. Just glad there are a lot of people and businesses donating to help the people who need it.

Everybody should have money set aside for emergency.....not just UAW folks.

This being a contract year....folks should have planned for a bit of upset.

Even so......life can throw other things at you.....in spite of good planning.

Some financial hardships are deserved, some not
