I have got an Uberti Schofield .45 long colt Wells Fargo like this one.....

I also have a beater Uberti Hombre with the brass frame (and at one time matte finish) in .45 long colt that I wear in a WW2 shoulder rig that (amazingly) fits it...Here it is (but in my vaquero 3.5 inch birdshead holster)....

I like them....They are not a Colt or Ruger but like Leadeye says they do the job, are smooth, and are an affordable way to shoot (and carry around as a farm gun) classic firearms.....As I said, I like them...Love them actually....

My only beef with these revolvers is the red grain filler they use, it's on their rifles as well. They need a better color and more character.

I strip them (not on the beater) down to the white then re stain them with walnut stain and a couple of coats of linseed oil and cigarette ash mixed together....

It's weird I had to do that on all of my black powder but the stain on the Schofield looks fine as is...I just put a little linseed on mainly because they were dry....

What conversion cylinder do you got in your 1858???? I think there is one in there any way....

That 1858 is made as a conversion, there's an ejector on the other side.

A good friend of mine picked up a Uberti Cattleman 3.5" with a Birds Head grip in .357 yesterday. I was very impressed with it, very smooth. The trigger was very nice.

Oh man! Love those open tops! Is that a copy of a Mason-Richards conversion! Nice!

Yes it is. I pulled the picture off the Cimarron website. Like I said earlier, I read on the interweb that Cimarron is made by Uberti, but fit and finish is better on the Cimarron. And you know, if you read it on the interweb, it must be true.

For those that were curious here's the ejector for an 1858 conversion, it's much clumsier to use than the Colt's.

Thanks leadeye...I had a pair I artificially aged that had r&d conversion cylinders for them...No ejectors, just drop in and replaced the main spring with a lighter mainspring.....I was amazed at how accurate they were and shooting black powder loads I had to wipe the cylinder down with cloth or they would seize up...VERY tight tolerances and as I said very accurate....

I love black powder 45 long colts....:)

This is my Uberti 1873 Cattleman .357 Mag 3 1/2" with the Birdshead grip, DeSantis Doc Holliday lined cross draw holster on a Desperado 2 1/4" gun belt with 25 cartridge loops. The trigger is amazing and breaks clean at 2 lbs. 10 oz. The action is easy to work and has the 4 Colt click when thumbing the hammer to full cock. I will be shooting sometime this week:D

That is awesome!!! I keep going back and forth between 38 special and 44 special. I reload both with cast bullets.
