Methinks Orwell was merely off about 3 to 4 decades.

Wow. So rather than control the means of production, they want to control the wage output of that production. Socialism and Communism don't even begin to describe this proposed system. What the heck would you call it? Theft is the best I can come up with, and I think that's disrespectful to thieves.

Don't worry. You'll get exactly what's coming to you comrade.

I'm out of rep, but that's exactly the word I was looking for. A 21st century solution to a 14th century problem. How do the nobles collect their taxes without the peasants stealing from them.

Exaclty one must remember the history of "Europe" in which Kings and Queens were the norm. So to the public this is nothing bad (ie. evil like we Yankees see it).

Ah but you see you are a Yank! (ie. American, great, great, great, great grandson of a rebel who told the crown SHOVE it!) and your line of thinking is not like that of Europe.

By such a definition, us "Yanks" are apparently pretty rare here in the US nowadays... :(

That's not a catch, it's part of the plan. Our president would define that as job creation.

Ugh...you're too right. What sickens me is imagining just how many members of the media, pundits, politicians, businessmen, & voters will read this & think, "Hey! That's a great idea!". :puke:

umm doesnt our government do this to us already, they take out the money on what you gross?to me its the same dam thing.

That's actually a pretty good comparison. Not 100%, but close enough. If we had to pay a tax bill each April instead of the IRS compulsorily leaching it from each paycheck, I'm thinking more people would be mad as hell & fewer would be willing to take it any more.

I actually approve of this. It dispenses with the fiction that the government does not lay claim to all that you own and earn, and forces folks to confront the practical reality of taxation.
